Till Names Fade Awaya three-stage design commemorating each individual who vanished in the Nanjing Massacre



The old Chinese Phonetic Alphabet, created in 1913 to represent the Mandarin pronunciation independently of character meaning, played a crucial role during the Republic of China and the Nanjing Massacre era. 

Its emphasis on sound over meaning inspired me to develop a new linguistic system for names, consisting of 409 unique characters.
